The Vampire Ball is Over

We may also speak of a “blood orgy.”

#RT:

The #era of #Western #elites being able to #exploit other #nations and other #peoples across the #world is coming to an #end, Russian President #VladimirPutin said in an exclusive interview published by Rossiya 1 and RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

The president stated that over the past few centuries, the so-called “golden billion” has grown accustomed to being able to “fill their bellies with human flesh and their pockets with money” as they have been “parasitizing” other peoples in #Africa, #Asia, and #LatinAmerica.

”But they must understand that the vampire ball is ending,” #Putin said.

He added that the citizens of the aforementioned regions, which have been continuously exploited by the West over the past 500 years, have started to associate #Russia’s #struggle for #sovereignty with “their own aspirations for sovereignty and independent development.”

That is definitely happening.

It might even be the single most important upshot of the #Ukraine war, when we look back on it in history.

Russia has become the standard bearer of #resistance against the #EvilEmpire...

Peace Pledge Union created a map showing conscientious objectors around the world throughout history. It is moving to see where these brave men and women came from and to reflect about their stories.

Visit this page to see the map and learn of these anti-war heroes.

This map shows examples of #ConscientiousObjectors from around the world and across #history, highlighting the global scope of their #struggle and the treatment they have faced. We are currently adding more women COs, who are often overlooked. If you are interested in this research or know of more examples or information to add, please get in touch at mail@ppu.org.uk

From #Peace Pledge Union in the UK:

Join us on 15 May: International Conscientious Objectors' Day

Every year on 15 May we remember #ConscientiousObjectors, past and present.

Around the world many people are imprisoned or forced to flee their home countries for refusing to join armed forces. On 15 May, we will stand in #solidarity with them, as well as celebrating the memory of those throughout #history who have resisted #conscription.

This year we will be showing our support especially to COs resisting the current #conflict in #Russia, #Ukraine and #Belarus.

In the UK, you can join the National Ceremony either in London or online: 1.00-2.00pm, Monday 15 May

Everyone is welcome to join the National Ceremony, which takes place every year in front of the #memorial stone for conscientious objectors in Tavistock Square, London.

For those who can't make it in person, you can watch the event online.

A quotation from Bolton, Sarah Knowles

I like the man who faces what he must,
With steps triumphant and a heart of cheer;
Who fights the daily battle without fear.

DAKOTA 38 - Full Movie in HD

To download the film in HD, or burn your own DVD for free, visit www.smoothfeather.com/dakota38. In honoring honor native traditions surrounding ceremonies, we are screening and distributing "Dakota 38" as a gift rather than for sale.

In the spring of 2005, Jim Miller, a Native spiritual leader and Vietnam veteran, found himself in a dream riding on horseback across the great plains of South Dakota. Just before he awoke, he arrived at a riverbank in Minnesota and saw 38 of his Dakota ancestors hanged. At the time, Jim knew nothing of the largest mass execution in United States history, ordered by Abraham Lincoln on December 26, 1862. "When you have dreams, you know when they come from the creator... As any recovered alcoholic, I made believe that I didn't get it. I tried to put it out of my mind, yet it's one of those dreams that bothers you night and day."

Now, four years later, embracing the message of the dream, Jim and a group of riders retrace the 330-mile route of his dream on horseback from Lower Brule, South Dakota to Mankato, Minnesota to arrive at the hanging site on the anniversary of the execution. "We can't blame the wasichus anymore. We're doing it to ourselves. We're selling drugs. We're killing our own people. That's what this ride is about, is healing." This is the story of their journey- the blizzards they endure, the Native and Non-Native communities that house and feed them along the way, and the dark history they are beginning to wipe away.

This film was created in line with Native healing practices. In honoring this ceremony, we are screening and distributing “Dakota 38″ as a gift rather than for sale. This film was inspired by one individual’s dream and is not promoting any organization or affiliated with any political or religious groups. It was simply created to encourage healing and reconciliation.

A quotation from Schopenhauer, Arthur

Human life must be some kind of mistake. The truth of this will be sufficiently obvious if we only remember that man is a compound of needs and necessities hard to satisfy; and that even when they are satisfied, all he obtains is a state of painlessness, where nothing remains to him but abandonment to boredom. This is direct proof that existence has no real value in itself; for what is boredom but the feeling of the emptiness of life? If life — the craving for which is the very essence of our being — were possessed of any positive intrinsic value, there would be no such thing as boredom at all: mere existence would satisfy us in itself, and we should want for nothing. But as it is, we take no delight in existence except when we are struggling for something; and then distance and difficulties to be overcome make our goal look as though it would satisfy us — an illusion which vanishes when we reach it; or else when we are occupied with some purely intellectual interest — when in reality we have stepped forth from life to look upon it from the outside, much after the manner of spectators at a play. And even sensual pleasure itself means nothing but a struggle and aspiration, ceasing the moment its aim is attained. Whenever we are not occupied in one of these ways, but cast upon existence itself, its vain and worthless nature is brought home to us; and this is what we mean by boredom. The hankering after what is strange and uncommon — an innate and ineradicable tendency of human nature — shows how glad we are at any interruption of that natural course of affairs which is so very tedious.

Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) German philosopher
Parerga and Paralipomena, Vol. 2, ch. 11 “The Vanity of Existence [Der Nichtigkeit des Daseins],” § 146 (1851)

They use their law, merely the opinion of the ruling #class, to villainize us and justify their violence.

The period that our #Party has worked to usher in is one where the colonial world hegemon, the United States, is weakened politically, economically and ideologically. People around the world, who have been forced to live under the brutal domination of U.S. #imperialism, are rising up and fighting back, refusing to be bullied and beaten to continue the theft of our land and resources.

There’s nothing that the white world has obtained for itself that has not been stolen from #African, Indigenous and all other #colonized nations throughout the #world.

The anti-colonial #struggle that’s heating up across the planet is driving the global system of #colonial #capitalism into great peril. Not only this, the U.S. is facing challengers to its economic and #military #power, primarily in the form of #Russia and increasingly, #China.

“His Spirit Reflected a Giant”: Mumia Abu-Jamal Remembers Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s Visit on Death Row

Mumia Abu-Jamal remembers South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who died on Sunday at the age of 90. Tutu was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting to end apartheid in South Africa. In 2007, Tutu visited Mumia when he was still on death row. “His spirit reflected a giant,” says Abu-Jamal.

“He struggled for change with his prophetic voice, his sweet humor, his deep love and his boundless sense of compassion.”
