The tech giants believe they should control the interface. Controlling the interface used to mean controlling the distribution. The zero-click vision that’s increasingly taking hold will mean publishers and their webpages are regarded as friction standing in the way of people getting what they want immediately, without wading through full-screen interstitial ads, endless pop-ups and autoplay video. That’s going to be a compelling proposition. It will also conveniently accrue all power to the interface and relegate publishers to content vendors.

Last week, #Playstation owners who'd bought (or "bought") Warner TV shows got messages telling them that #Warner had walked away from its deal to sell videos through the Playstation store, and so all the videos they'd paid for were going to be deleted forever. They wouldn't even get refunds (to be clear, refunds would also be #bullshit – when I was a bookseller, I didn't get to break into your house and steal the books I'd sold you, not even if I left some cash on your kitchen table).
So the entertainment industry thinks copying is like stealing but deleting bought licenses from the customer is not stealing because it's normal business? It's a mad world.

He seems to have the habit, to follow #FDNY and other rescue services around in New York City. And yes, he even has footage from way back then in late 2001.
Here, he catched a 5th Alert (aka really big fire) of #FDNY units for a "relatively small" Li-Ion Battery pack catching fire, which eventually burned down the whole building including laundromat and super-market/grocery store.

Yes and i know. Watching weirdo footage of accidents, fires and other disasters shouldn't be a thing. But in this case, he actually seems to have a relationship with the rescuers and firefighters overall. They seem to know him and let him stay on scene as far as he safely can.
And he takes on the task to not only show the flames or injured.. but the whole effort needed to remedy the situation overall..
So good, that he even get's thanks and compliments from fire fighting trainers/instructors in his comments which use his footage in class to teach important lessons.
And yes, he totally does a really great job of showing of the whole shebang ... not just "catasprophic entertainment".

Although nowadays a lot of information is available, the amount of “noise”, or irrelevant information, is many times bigger too, making is very hard to get to truth. It is easy to blame this on “fake news”, as governments do, or “propaganda”, as critics of governments do. However, I suggest that this is a consequence of the times we live in: the very early stages of a new Middle Age period. Society has had the means to spend its vast resources on meaningful projects and research, but unfortunately, most of these riches were squandered. Alas, these are the consequences of the choices that have been made.
One of the things to do now, is to preserve the knowledge that we do have, and to encourage everybody, children and adults alike, to dig deeper in the subjects that interest than, rather than to be captivated by the latest fashion that is being broad cased by the companies that are looking to capture our attention.
