Allerdings wird diese Sorge nur hörbar, wenn es sich um Serbien, Moldau oder Georgien handelt. Die Unregelmäßigkeiten bei den US Wahlen laufen dagegen unter der Rubrik "Unterhaltung".

Elon Musk verschenkt täglich 1 Million Dollar an Wähler in den Swing States, die seine Petition unterschreiben und abstimmen, um die Wahl für Donald Trump zu kaufen. Der übergroße Einfluss von Milliardären wie Musk auf unsere Präsidentschaftswahlen muss sofort eingedämmt werden. Wenn es noch eines Beweises bedurft hätte, dass der extreme Reichtum von Milliardären zu einer massiven Verzerrung demokratischer Prozesse führt, dann haben Elon Musks Aktionen in den letzten Wochen dieses Wahlkampfes jeden Zweifel ausgeräumt.
Musk hat über seinen America PAC privat mindestens 75 Millionen Dollar an die Trump-Kampagne gespendet. Aber das ist noch nicht alles. Jetzt hält Musk selbst eine Reihe von Kundgebungen ab und hat versprochen, jeden Tag 1 Million Dollar an 16 zufällig ausgewählte Teilnehmer zu verschenken, die seine Petition zur Unterstützung des Ersten und Zweiten Verfassungszusatzes unterzeichnen und die in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania oder Wisconsin registriert sind und gewählt haben.
Dieses Vorgehen ist mit ziemlicher Sicherheit illegal. Wie der UCLA-Rechtsprofessor Rick Hansen zuerst feststellte, besteht das Problem darin, dass das Bundesgesetz es verbietet, Ausgaben an eine Person zu tätigen oder anzubieten, um sie zur Stimmabgabe oder Stimmverweigerung zu bewegen oder um für oder gegen einen Kandidaten zu stimmen“ - ein Vergehen, das mit einer Geldstrafe oder bis zu einem Jahr Gefängnis geahndet wird.
Zusätzlich zu den 1 Million Dollar pro Tag bietet Musk jedem Wähler in Pennsylvania, der seine Petition unterschreibt, direkt 100 Dollar an, und weitere 100 Dollar für jeden, der einen in Pennsylvania registrierten Wähler zur Unterschrift bewegt.

I don't blame #Trump for the pandemic and I don't blame #Biden for the inflation that resulted from the recovery. Both were a huge problem everywhere in the world. We'd be a lot better at coming together to handle our problems if this blame game wasn't the primary focus of our politics. We'd be able to understand the issues involved more fully if we didn't just refuse to listen cause the wrong people were telling us about them.
