U.S. Embassy Statement on Milorad Dodik’s Secessionist Threats

the stench of hypocrisy is truly nauseating! Remember how Clinton bypassed UN to bomb former Yugoslavia to stone ages to let Kosovo become a satelite state of US/NATO in the region?

I still remember when Thacher prevented EU to help Bosnia during the slaughter of Bosnians by Serb and Coratian militia, her exact words were "we do not want a muslim country in the heart of Europe"!

The United States, as it has for almost 30 years, will act to protect Bosnia and Herzegovina’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and multi-ethnic character.t

There is no right under Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitution for an entity or any other sub-state unit to secede, and the United States will not remain idle if Milorad Dodik acts to spark another conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

https://bbf.enssib.fr/consulter/bbf-1997-06-0072-007
extrait:

In front of the entrance, a commemorative plaque:

On this place Serbian criminals on the night of 25-26 August 1992 set on fire National and University's Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina . Over 2 millions of books, periodicals and documents vanished in the flame. Do not forget, remember and warn!

An article published in the Bulletin des Bibliothèques de France in 1997:
https://bbf.enssib.fr/consulter/bbf-1997-06-0072-007
extract:

A systematic devastation of the Bosnian heritage
Thus, an invaluable collection of documents testifying to the heritage and common history of the different Bosnian communities was destroyed. If the destruction of the National and University Library in Sarajevo evokes ancient tragedies, such as that of Alexandria, or the ravages of the world wars, it has also become the symbol of the systematic devastation of Bosnian heritage.
For this annihilation is only the most spectacular element of what has been called a "memorialization", characterizing the now too famous policy of "ethnic cleansing" which has been accompanied, throughout the country, by a deliberate policy of eliminating the written and architectural heritage testifying to the previous common life, and to the rights of the displaced populations: destruction of cultural institutions, religious buildings (nearly a thousand mosques, many Catholic churches), destruction of entire neighbourhoods and villages, cadastres and archives. The main perpetrators of this policy have been indicted for genocide and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague.

Remember those barges used by the Ukronazis to try to land an assault force to seize the ZNPP?

Speaking of the ZNPP, the IAEA report was hopelessly anti-Russian and “superbly blind”. Here is a photo of the IAEA inspectors presenting their findings:

Western “observers” hard at work

Which is hardly anything new.

Western “observers” did not see tens of thousands of Russians murdered, raped, tortured, enslaved and displaced by the Western-backed Wahabis in Chechnia.

They never noticed the mass murder of Serbians living in the hills around Srebrenica by the Western-backed Muslim forces in #Bosnia.

They never noticed 14k+ Ukrainian murdered by the Western-backed Ukronazi military in the #Donbass

These observers are STILL not seeing the vicious persecution of Serbs by Western-backed Albanians in #Kosovo.

But they did see a “genocide” in Srebrenica and in Racak and we can be absolutely confident that they will find plenty of “evidence of genocide/crimes against innocent civilians” in the #Kharkov region now that the Russians have withdraw.

Antiwar campaigns don’t end wars. Not one of the wars I mentioned above ended because of an antiwar campaign. Wars end for other reasons — either the aggressor suffers a major #military defeat, or the number of casualties becomes too high. Or, if the opponent’s forces are comparable, the war might become a stalemate that lasts for years, until both sides have exhausted their resources.
That’s how wars end.
If that’s the case, though, what’s the role of an antiwar campaign? Intuitively, it seems like an #antiwar movement’s goal should be stopping a #war. If it can’t do that, it’s pointless, right? No. To avoid the crushing disappointment that sets in when you realize you are powerless to stop a war, it’s vital to understand up front what the real purpose of an antiwar movement is.

Almost 30 years and counting:

"There was little visible progress on human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in 2021. Public officials stirred xenophobia, failed to tackle discrimination, and put pressure on journalists. War crimes prosecutions slowed. Protections for women and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people are inadequate."

Opinion: Lessons From Bosnia
When I first came to Sarajevo, in the early days of the siege in 1992, people looked at each other and asked, "How could it happen here?" It was a city of espresso-sippers, jazz lovers and sports fans, who had been intermingling and marrying for centuries, Muslims, Serbs, Croats and Jews. Sarajevans saw foreign films, sang along to The Clash and were sure they were just too smart for the blunt, brutal, dumbness of the destruction that suddenly surrounded them...
