Ein neuer Tag. Viele neue Herausforderungen vor mir. An der Seite paar gute Freunde zu haben und meine Familie, das tut der Seele immer gut. Der Tag ist bewölkt, aber in meinem Kopf und in meinem Herz blühen wieder neue Kräfte auf und neue gute Gedanken. Optimistisch bleiben, an mich selber glauben, das ist für mich nun die Devise. Hackers exploited #Windows 0-day for 6 months after #Microsoft knew of it
Even after Microsoft patched the #vulnerability last month, the company made no mention that the North Korean threat group #Lazarus had been using the vulnerability since at least August to install a stealthy #rootkit on vulnerable computers. The vulnerability provided an easy and stealthy means for #malware that had already gained administrative system rights to interact with the Windows #kernel. Lazarus used the vulnerability for just that. Even so, Microsoft has long said that such admin-to-kernel elevations don’t represent the crossing of a security boundary, a possible explanation for the time Microsoft took to fix the vulnerability.

Everyone present on the video calls except the victim was a fake representation of real people. The scammers applied deepfake technology to turn publicly available video and other footage into convincing versions of the meeting’s participants.

I #trust #Mozilla more than I trust #Google, #Apple, #Microsoft, or any other company that makes #web browsers. This trust is based on the fact that Mozilla chooses the highest level of user privacy when developing services such as Firefox Sync, Firefox Translate, and others. A web browser is an integral part of a person’s #online life, so it makes sense to choose a #browser from a company that one trusts the most.

After my company switched to Zero Trust, I received an email with instructions and that I should print out the telephone list from the intranet in case of an #emergency. But I didn't had access to the list. So I opened a ticket. The #support sent me the list by email. When I asked, if this is how it should work now, that I can't access even the simplest documents. The answer was that I can request them via support. Zero Trust therefore means that you only have access to your own documents, and perhaps those of the project team. It's a mad world with a lot of security theatre and snake oil.

For instance, some #AI LLM results describe Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) as an authentication type. While it does support password authentication and serve up public key certificates to aid in PKI authentication, LDAP is a directory service. It is not an authentication protocol.

Apple is planning a new system for its retail stores that will update the software on iPhones prior to sale. The company has developed a proprietary pad-like device that the store can place boxes of iPhones on top of. That system can then wirelessly turn on the iPhone, update its #software and then power it back down — all without the phone’s packaging ever being opened. The company aims to begin rolling this out to its stores before the end of the year.
