If you are robbed, mugged or your house broken into, unlike what cop shows will tell you, if you are low or middle class the cops will write up your paperwork, shrug and look at you like "what do you expect us to do?". They essentially treat it as an act of god, purely for insurance purposes. If you are rich and get a lot stolen from you however they will hunt the bastards down to the ends of the earth. Most cops only need guns for 4% of what they do. Increase training for the ones that do for that 4% and disarm the rest. No one shoots the meter maid or the insurance adjuster. #Defundthepolice

"Data collected by the Washington Post records 6,214 police killings in the period between January 2, 2015 and April 14, 2021. The victims are overwhelmingly male (95 percent) and predominately white (46 percent). Blacks make up the second largest group (24 percent), followed by Hispanics (17 percent), Asians (1.6 percent), Native Americans (1.4 percent) and all others (0.7 percent). The average age of a police violence victim is 37. In more than one in five cases the person who was killed was exhibiting signs of mental illness."
