According to the Public Ministry of Buenos Aires, these actions are part of the operation 'Allies for Childhood,' led by #Argentina and simultaneously implemented in the #UnitedStates, #Brazil, #Chile, #Ecuador, #Panama, #Paraguay, and #PuertoRico.
"Five people were arrested in Chile, one in Ecuador, and the results from the other involved countries are still awaited," the #Argentine capital's Public Ministry reported.
The investigation was made possible through the use of the investigation system provided by the American platform #Icaccops, used to track the trafficking of child sexual exploitation material on the #internet.
Members of the Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), a U.S. NGO dedicated to combating child trafficking and exploitation, founded by Tim Ballard, a former U.S. Homeland Security special agent portrayed by Jim Caviezel in the movie "Sound of Freedom" (2023), were present at the Public Ministry's monitoring center in Buenos Aires on Monday.
Much as how the Tories want to break the NHS but will never egregiously admit to it, so I have the impression that the NSF want to (and importantly have long wanted to) kill off Arecibo. It's not accidental, it's a deliberate delenda est Arecibo, albeit perhaps partly subconsciously.
It was always a long shot that calls to rebuild the telescope would fall on deaf ears because the NSF have been stuck in pig-headed ignorance for the last decade and more. But the very least you could do when a world class facility collapses is to try and facilitate a smooth transition to a new state of affairs, be that a replacement in the extreme best-case scenario, or a complete site closure in the extreme worst-case.
The problem is that closing a site like this isn't something you can just do on a whim. You can't just close the gate and call it a day. There are dozens of buildings on site, including a 12m radio telescope, LIDAR instruments, small optical telescopes, a 1 MW diesel generator, plus all of the support buildings for researchers and technicians (many of whom are still employed and working on-site) which includes all the backend electronics and data archive. The NSF plan to just stop supporting all this in six months is absurd. Okay, you want out. Fine, you short-sighted arseholes. Fine. But this current plan means dozens of job losses for people with decades of specialist experience and a clean-up operation that simply isn't going to happen.
Then the replacement scheme : a STEM outreach centre funded at the pitiful level of $1 million per year using existing local university staff (oh, and this is when the NSF are asking for a budget increase of $1.7 billion). No science or support for the researchers still there, or any of the other smaller facilities which still exist on-site. That's just plain insulting. What happens to the data archive ? It's not said. Why would anyone want to visit the site given that its in the middle of nowhere and no actual science is being done any more ? No idea. So, forget the LIDAR and 12m telescope, people, the NSF seems to think, will line up in droves to come and visit... an empty sinkhole. And this will definitely help their mission of a more inclusive STEM program, because hitherto the "people who want to look at an empty sinkhole" demographic has been sorely lacking from typical outreach programs.
Yeah, because that makes sense. Arseholes.

Einige Philosophie-Studenten der Universität #Leipzig haben sich jetzt an die Universitätsleitung sowie an die unabhängige Hochschulzeitung luhze aus Leipzig gewandt, um ein Seminar eines Dozenten bereits im Vorfeld zu verhindern. Nach Angaben der, vor allem mehrheitlich #queer|en Studenten sei zu befürchten, dass die Lehrveranstaltung transphob sein könnte.
Konkret geht es dabei um das Seminar mit dem Titel „Historisch-genetische Theorie der Geschlechterbeziehung: Subjekt – #Identität – Liebe“ von Privatdozent Javier Álvarez-Vázquez. Der renommierte Dozent lehrt seit 2020 an der Universität Leipzig und arbeitete zuvor an den Universitäten in #Heidelberg, #Freiburg, #PuertoRico sowie in den #USA. Die Annahme, in der Lehrveranstaltung könnten transfeindliche Inhalte vermittelt werden, stützt sich auf den Beschreibungstext und die Literaturliste. Laut Beschreibung will das Seminar sich „kritisch mit der Klärung der Grundlagen der #Geschlecht|erbeziehung“ auseinandersetzen und spricht weiter von einer „geschlechtlichen ‚Machbarkeitsfaszination‘ seitens der #Medizin sowie der Pharmaindustrie“. Zudem stellt der Beschreibungstext die Frage: „Warum haben Menschen in allen #Gesellschaft|en gesucht, ihre Leben in der Körperzone eines anderen zu führen?“ Die weitere Themenstellung ist vielfältig und geht über die historisch-genetische Theorie der Geschlechterbeziehung bis hin zu philosophischen Fragen zu #Sexualität und Promiskuität.

El Consejo Mundial de la Salud (CMS ), una coalición de científicos, médicos, abogados y organizaciones de defensa de la sociedad civil, se opone a las maniobras de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) para llevar a cabo una toma de poder en forma de acuerdo global sobre la pandemia, mientras la atención del mundo se desvía por la última crisis.
El acuerdo propuesto por la OMS es innecesario y constituye una amenaza para la soberanía y los derechos inalienables. Aumenta el poder asfixiante de la OMS para declarar pandemias injustificadas, imponer encierros deshumanizados e imponer tratamientos caros, inseguros e ineficaces en contra de la voluntad del pueblo.
El CMI cree que la gente tiene derecho a participar en cualquier acuerdo que afecte a sus vidas, medios de vida y bienestar. Sin embargo, la OMS no ha llevado a cabo un proceso de participación pública, lo que evidencia que su prioridad es captar más poder para sí misma y sus cómplices corporativos, que servir a los intereses del pueblo. Sin un proceso democrático imparcial, cualquier acuerdo de la OMS, actuando a través de las Naciones Unidas, será ilegal, ilegítimo e inválido.
Históricamente, los dirigentes de la OMS han fallado al pueblo. Entre otros muchos ejemplos, aprobó la perjudicial vacuna H1N1 (gripe porcina) para una pandemia declarada de forma controvertida. Del mismo modo, la OMS fracasó durante el capítulo Covid-19, ya que fomentó los cierres, suprimió los tratamientos preventivos tempranos y recomendó intervenciones con productos que no han demostrado ser ni seguros ni eficaces.
No se puede permitir que la OMS controle la agenda sanitaria mundial, ni que imponga la biovigilancia. Aunque recibe financiación de fuentes públicas que pertenecen al pueblo, está atrapada en un perpetuo conflicto de intereses porque también recibe una importante financiación de intereses privados que utilizan sus contribuciones para influir en las decisiones y mandatos de la OMS y beneficiarse de ellos. Por ejemplo, la Fundación Gates y la alianza de promoción de vacunas GAVI, financiada por Gates, aportan más de 1.000 millones de dólares al año.
