EU to impose first sanctions on Russian intelligence over disinformation campaigns,

Proposed measures target more than a dozen individuals and three entities, including #Russian #intelligence officers and #media entrepreneurs, according to Bloomberg. The sanctions aim to counter destabilizing operations globally.

In addition, the #EU plans to #sanction around two dozen #Belarusian individuals for alleged #HumanRights violations or ties to President Alexander Lukashenko’s government, as part of a broader package expected to be approved by EU foreign ministers on Dec. 16 in Brussels.

In that role, #Alsheikh allegedly ordered subordinates to inflict and was sometimes personally involved in inflicting severe physical and mental #pain and suffering on political and other prisoners.

Isn't that exciting? The American #justice #system knows exactly what torture is and can even convict foreigners for it. Unfortunately, it is blind with its own #military or with the #CIA, or can someone explain to me why nobody was punished for #Guantanamo? #Bush admitted to ordering torture after #911 and is still walking around free. This is not only a disgrace to the #legal system but also totally undemocratic, because in a #democracy all people must be equal before the #law.

#Athena_Farghdani, a cartoonist and civil activist, was released from Evin Prison after completing her sentence.

She had planned to display one of her works on a wall on Pastor Street in Tehran in a protest action. She was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of "insulting the sacred" and one year in prison on charges of "propaganda against the system," which was reduced to eight months by the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeal.

Some companies use #video #surveillance and have it analyzed by #AI. This gives you automated reports on the #performance of your #employees. At least the performance that the AI can record. Of course, this creates the exact opposite of what AI should be. Instead of relieving the burden on people, they become the new #slaves of a surveillance #technology. A dystopian scenario straight out of an #Orwell novel.

The automatic shot is of course not mentioned here because it would sound too dystopian and Ukraine is of course the good guys in the western narrative.

Is that another damn AI picture? How can you post it? You always warn about the dangers yourself, don't you?

Yes it is #AI generated and yes I warn of the dangers. Unfortunately, my posts without pictures are mostly ignored. I also have the feeling that most people don't really understand the extent of the threat. Pandora's box can no longer be closed. We can only try to deal with it #responsibly. I do think there's a difference between posting AI images and developing #Skynet.

I am working on a #FAQ on the subject of AI and hope to have enough time over Christmas to present the first parts of it to you. So please stay tuned and continue to be critical.
