when these U.S. imperialist ask “why are you here, in my country, then?” I let them know… cause you never left or let mine breathe! FUERA YANKIS DE MIERDA!!”

Just seven months after becoming the first popularly elected president in the #DominicanRepublic Bosch was overthrown by a military coup on September 25, 1963, with the support of the Dominican oligarchy, the hierarchy of the Catholic Church and the US government. Bosch was responsible for a new constitution. A constitution that ensured basic civil and human rights, and established a popular democracy for the majority of the people. Sounding too much like “another potential socialist #Cuba,” the U.S. was determine to crush democracy in the Dominican Republic.

On April 24, 1965, a group of officers led by Colonels Rafael Fernández Domínguez and Francisco Alberto Caamaño, united a civic-military movement for the restoration of the 1963 constitution and the return of Juan Bosch for president. Domínguez and Caamaño received massive popular support. A revolution erupted demanding the return and reinstatement of elected president Bosch.

Instead, on April 28, the United States of America invaded the Dominican Republic to counter the advance of the Constitutionalists. US President #Johnson sent 20,000 US Marines, justifying the invasion by claiming that communists were within the civil-military movement and therefore could not be allowed to come to power.

The full extent of death and destruction endured by the Dominican people was not recorded and is not fully known, even today. Most estimates are that 3,000 to 4000 were killed; some estimates say that as many as 6,000 to 10,000 Dominicans were killed during this invasion.

#Cuba is teaching the world lessons in #sustainability

Cuba is showing resilience and plenty of lessons to learn about tough times, gardening and humanitarianism — and it all starts with food security.

Along with the realization that climate change will affect the planet through rising sea levels, #flooding, #fires, #droughts, #hurricanes, #tornadoes and irregular wind patterns also comes the realization that food security will need to be a priority. Innovative models of #agriculture will need to be practiced for other reasons as well.

The sudden #coronavirus pandemic alert is another strong reminder that food security and sustainability help create a more resilient society all round. For now, Canadians are largely worried about limiting the spread of the #virus, or getting home safely from other countries. As days of isolation turn into weeks, remote work or #unemployment becomes a reality for most, and spring arrives, we may soon wonder why we have not turned our back- and front-yards into food gardens sooner.

Over 100K people have been disappeared in the destructive drug war waged in Mexico over the past 20 years. Among the deceased are more than 150 journalists murdered for their work to expose a dense network of corruption.

Over 150 journalists have been assassinated in Mexico since 2000. Behind the killings is a nexus of corruption and violence that links organized crime, police, and government.

Just imagine if this was #Cuba!

Mexican cartel says sorry for attack on Americans, bodies return to US

The stories surrounding the tragic kidnapping and death (murder) of those Americans in Mexico is yet another reminder of the disastrous health care system in #US and out of control violence in #Mexico.

Imagine of the story was about #Cuba, how do you think the media coverage would have been?

How do you think US police, politicians and talk show hosts would have covered the story and it's aftermath?

This is what #American #capitalism has given to it's citizens and neighboring countries.

Suspected drug cartel members on Thursday handed over five purported henchmen as a would-be apology for the abduction of four Americans in the border city of Matamoros, according to media and a source familiar with the investigation.

Two of the Americans and a Mexican woman died after gunmen opened fire on the U.S. citizens shortly after their arrival in Matamoros on Friday. The four Americans were found on Monday on the edge of the city, by which time two of them were dead.

Mexican officials gave the bodies of the two dead men, identified as Shaeed Woodard and Zindell Brown, to U.S. officials in Matamoros on Thursday afternoon, and they were taken across the border into the U.S., a Reuters witness said.
