Half of British military defense fund for Ukraine remains unused

More than half of the U.K.'s 900 million pound (over $1 billion) military fund for Ukraine remains unused due to bureaucratic delays in handing out contracts, the Guardian reports.

The #British Ministry of Defense manages a coalition of about nine countries called the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU). The IFU is a funding mechanism that was created in August 2022 and uses financial contributions from nine other countries to procure military equipment for Ukraine. Some of the other countries in the initiative include Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Iceland, and Lithuania.

The IFU has been criticized for its slow provision of weapons to the frontlines. Of the more than $1 billion that's been donated by Western countries over the last two years, of which $600 million came from the U.K., only about $500 million has been committed or spent.

Some British officials even admitted that some of the materials that were purchased would not reach Ukraine until Spring 2025.

Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski said that some NATO countries have already sent their military to Ukraine.

Sikorski made the comments in a speech on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO.

The main accomplishment of World War I was to free the land of Palestine from Ottoman control, contributing towards the establishment of the State of Israel, a long-standing objective of the Zionists. World War I was precipitated when the Austro-Hungarian heir Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914. The three chief assassins were Gavrilo Princip and two of his friends, who were all members of a nationalist group called the Order of the Black Hand, a secret society that had been founded in 1911 as the Union of Death to fight for Serbian liberation. The seal of the order was a clenched fist holding a skull and crossbones beside a knife, a bomb and a poison bottle.[1] The involvement of the Russians was purportedly exposed when it was discovered that a secret payment of eight thousand rubles had been given to the Black Hand leader by the Russian military attaché in Belgrade. The order had apparently been accompanied by a promise from Tsar Nicholas II, knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece, that he would support Serbia in the event of war breaking out between Russian and the Austro-Hungarian empire. It was also rumored that representatives of the Black Hand had met with several members of the French Grand Orient at the Hotel St. Jerome in Toulouse in January of that year. One of the topics allegedly discussed was the murder of the emperor Franz Joseph and the archduke Ferdinand.

The Zionist movement was founded by Theodor Herzl—a former member of the German nationalist Burschenschaft (fraternity) Albia—who Anti-Zionist rabbis and other Jewish opponents often compared Herzl disparagingly with Shabbetai Zevi, who declared himself the Messiah in 1666. The Sabbatean influences on the Zionist movement are demonstrated by its rejection of Jewish law, while also adhering to the expectations of the Messiah, whose arrival is expected to initiate the return of all Jews dispersed in the Diaspora to the Promised Land. In “Herzl’s Image and the Messianic Idea,” Arthur Kamczycki explained that, “From the very beginning Zionism opposed the conservative rabbinate and the religious Jewry in general.”[4] According to orthodox interpretation, the restoration of Zion by the Messiah could not be brought about through a human whose actions would be subject to God’s will.[5] Additionally, attempts at estimating the time of the Messiah’s arrival were seen as blasphemy. Herzl, who was aware of this discrepancy, stated that “the orthodoxy should understand that there is no contradiction between God’s will and the Zionist attempt of grabbing the destiny with one’s own hands.”

After World War I, the #British #Government would cede the territory of #Palestine to Zionist colonization, as outlined in the Balfour Declaration, written by Lord Balfour (1848 – 1930) with the assistance of Weizmann to Walter #Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild (1868 – 1937), who had inherited the title of baron from his father, Nathan “Natty” Rothschild (1840 – 1915), head of the English branch of the family founded by his father, Nathan Mayer Rothschild. Before placing their hopes in Britain, the German Zionists had first turned to #Germany, hoping their German imperialism would provide a protectorate in Palestine for Jewish settlement. Herzl first attempted to recruit Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany (1859 – 1941), to influence Abdul Hamid II (1842 – 1918), a fellow knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece, to seriously consider the proposals of the Zionists.

Herzl attempted to meet the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II (1842 – 1918), a knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece, in order to present his proposition of a Jewish State to him directly. He failed to obtain an audience but did succeed in visiting a number of highly placed individuals, including the Grand Vizier.

Having failed to gain the support of either the Kaiser or the Sultan, Herzl turned to Great Britain in 1900, joining the pro-British Zionist faction that was soon to be led by Chaim Weizmann (1874 – 1952), President of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), who helped draft the Balfour Declaration, and later first President of Israel. Weizmann was a great admirer of Nietzsche, and sent Nietzsche’s books to his wife, adding in a letter that “This was the best and finest thing I can send to you.”[8] At the time, World War I was referred to as “Nietzsche in Action,”

This is an #analysis of official #UK #government #ONS #data that shows quite clearly that as the #percentage of population that is not 'White British' goes down, so does the total rate of #crime per 100k of #population.

In other words, as the percentage of 'non-White-British' within the population of a locality goes up, the total crime rate per 100k of population also goes up.

First day of Love and Anarchy film festival over! Three movies. Three completely different movies. Half an hour between each movie. My mind is pretty mushed up right now.

This post may include spoilers regarding some of the festival movies, be warned!

Living (2022)

I love Bill Nighy! There is just something about him that is really special. His expressions. Probably the roles he is cast to.

"Living" is a heart warming story of a man (Bill Nighy) who is given six months to live due to cancer. Realizing he has lived his life sitting at an office, wasting both his time and opportunity, he finds the chance to do some good before leaving the world.

I don't think there was a single mean character in this film. Which is probably why it was so heart warming, even the the son and his wife, who initially felt mean towards the cancer doomed father, eventually seemed that they had been distanced by the coldness of the father, rather than being mean themselves.

This film wont leave you sad after watching it.

Rebel (2022)

Do you feel disconnected from the brutalities of the world? Are you failing to understand what it is like to be engulfed by war? Are you generally wanting to stick knives into your heart in a dark room (ie movie theater)?

Then you've come to the right place. "Rebel" tells the story of a Belgian muslim family who gets engulfed in the Syrian conflict. Bad choices, being in the wrong place at the wrong time and a society that doesn't care, leads to two brothers and their mother being swallowed by ISIS. And like all war in the world, this film does not have a happy ending. There are no happy endings in war outside of Hollywood films. This is why you need to see this film, this is why history needs to be taught.

As films go, this was probably the hardest thing to watch for a long time. It was useless telling myself it's just a film. This stuff happens all the time, in Syria, in Ukraine, in areas of conflict all around the world. Somewhat confusingly the film had dance scenes. They didn't take away any of the pain in the story.

Polite Society (2023)

After spending half an hour after the previous film sulking in dark corners, pondering whether humanity should actually be given a chance, thankfully my next film set things straight back into happy land. Forget the war and the ugliness of humanity, welcome kung-fu with a bollywood touch!

"Polite Society" tells of two sisters, one arranged to marriage, one intent on stopping it. Well, not completely arranged, the other sister actually has fallen in love and wants to marry. Our wannabe martial arts enthusiast little sister smells foul play, and the truth is weirder than anyone would guess. Lots of fighting, cool moves and humour ensues, ending with a standing ovation at the cinema. And this film does have a happy ending, of course.

Really recommend this film if it comes near you, you wont be disappointed :)
